Before you watch your first video you need to know three things!
1. This is a walk-through and not a stand-alone video lesson
The walk-through is intended to be used only with an e-book or paper book. Read and work through the printed lesson first. Only watch the video walk-through if you have difficulty with it.
2. Video walk-throughs do not have a sound track
Reading out the lesson steps (shown in the captions) wouldn't add any value. If a wordy narrative was added it would bloat the walk-through and make it less useful for its intended purpose.
3. Make sure that you use the interactive transcript and e-book button
Jump straight to the step you need to see using the interactive transcript. window. Just click on the step you need. Play with the other buttons too - you'll never have seen some of the features our player has before.
OK - I’ve got it! Don't show this again.

Lesson: Lesson 3-6 Use the SUMIF and COUNTIF functions to create conditional totals Create an Excel SUMIF function and Excel COUNTIF function. Thumbnail from Lesson 3-6 of the Excel 2016 Expert Skills Video Course
Description:

This video lesson explains the SUMIF and COUNTIF functions in Excel 2016 formulas. SUMIF and COUNTIF are very similar to the IF logical function that is covered in the previous lesson. As well as demonstrating these formulas, this lesson also shows how to use wildcards in logical criteria to create more flexible logic. This lesson's example shows how to use SUMIF and COUNTIF to calculate the total salary and headcount for an organization's departments and employees.
